Malachi is the last book in the Old Testament, written about 450 years before Jesus was born. This book is an important bridge from the Old Testament to the New Testament as it prophesies about John the Baptist and Jesus Christ. During the time the prophet wrote this book, the nation of Israel was in a state of rebellion toward God and each other. This is a warning from God to repent, to turn back to Him. This call to repentance definitely applies to us today.
