The Promise That We Will Find God, If We Search for Him

Do you need some good news today? A promise that will make you feel better? I know oftentimes we get busy, life gets hectic, and we get filled with stressors. It can leave us feeling frustrated, tired, and empty. We may even feel like we have no true purpose or meaning in life. We feel drained and filled with more questions than answers. Thankfully, we have a God who sees us in the middle of all of that. He sees our emptiness, our questions, our fears, and our frustrations. And He is the answer to all of them.

If we search for God with all our hearts, we will find Him. God is not hiding.

The Bible says that with God there is peace, security, freedom, rest, and truth. And who wouldn’t want all of those wonderful things that are found in God? We all do. We receive those things as part of our relationship with God. But that begs the question, how do we find God? How do we build a relationship with God?

The key is wholeheartedly and sincerely seeking Him.

“‘For I know the plans I have for you’—this is the Lord’s declaration—‘plans for your well-being, not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. You will call to me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you search for me with all your heart. I will be found by you”—this is the Lord’s declaration’” in Jeremiah 29:11–14.

And in Proverbs 8:17, God says, “I love those who love me, and those who search for me find me.”

We see this promise over and over in the Bible. If we search for God with all our hearts, we will find Him. God is not hiding. He made you. He sees what is going on in your life, and He wants a relationship with you. He wants you to find Him, and He wants to take care of you.

Armed with that knowledge, it is up to you to take Him at His word. Believe His promise. From there, “search for the Lord your God, and you will find him when you seek him with all your heart and all your soul” (Deuteronomy 4:29). Seek Him sincerely, and you will find Him. It is His promise.

Here are a few things that will help you seek God: remember to pray—it is a conversation between you and God, and He hears. Read His Word—it is where you will find truth and amazing promises like this one. Praise Him—God inhabits praise, and it helps us enter His presence.
