YOUR CHURCH

Remember those days in middle school; those awkward and often confusing times from 6th through 8th grade when kids just aren’t quite sure about a lot of things—who they are, where they belong, and what they believe? The EON Ministry strives to meet middle school students in this difficult phase of life and promote an eternal identity—their identity in Christ—so they can have a firm foundation and take their faith beyond the four walls of the church. We hope to teach wisdom and provide clarity in the midst of the confusion around them, helping them during this “EON and beyond.”

Men and Women who serve at EON with the middle schoolers help them find their way to an authentic relationship with Jesus during this often chaotic and confusing time of life. At the heart of this ministry is the desire to help students find a solid foundation in Christ so they can take their faith beyond the four walls of the church and practice an active faith.

If you enjoy working with middle school students, can see their needs, and want to help them grow as authentic Jesus followers, the EON Ministry is a great place for you to serve. From being a Life Group leader to helping with worship, you can be a part of encouraging students to grow in their relationship with Christ.

EON ADULT LEADERS

During EON services, volunteers spend about an hour and a half with students. Because our time is limited with them, we try to maximize the quality of our time together. We sit with the students and ask about their weeks, and, most importantly, we listen. From the beginning of class and the end of class, we have to be as intentional as possible.

EON volunteers have an important role each week as we are in the world with middle school students. Middle school is a time when students are searching for their identity. We have the opportunity and privilege to share biblical truth and live out the gospel in the way we talk, act, and love in the time given with them each week. We purpose to pray for them throughout the week in hopes that God can protect them from the world, which tells them how they should look or who they should be.

As EON volunteers, we ask questions, we listen, we pray, we are intentional, we are consistent, and, most importantly, we love.
