3 Ways to Volunteer/Serve the Body

If you have decided to follow Jesus, you have set out on an amazing lifelong journey. You’ll grow closer to the One who made the earth and everything in it through your intentional daily time in Scripture, prayer, and worship. Yet, the life of an authentic Believer doesn’t stop there; we also get to serve with the gifts and talents God has given us. That is what we are called to do.

Jesus gave us the best example of serving because he didn’t come to earth to have people serve Him, even though He is a king and deserves to be served. Instead, He came to serve others (check out Mark 10:45) and calls us to do the same. We are supposed to go to those around us and serve them humbly as if they are more important than ourselves—which is contrary to the message the world tells us. Yet this is the very thing God has created us for. We are His handiwork, “created in Christ Jesus for good works” (Ephesians 2:10). Over and over in the Scriptures, we are called to serve wholeheartedly, using the talents and gifts God has given us to benefit others, honor Him, and grow the Body of Christ.

He came to serve others and calls us to do the same.

When you are ready to step up and serve in obedience, ask God to show you where He wants you to serve, trust that He will show you, and then act! There are plenty of opportunities for you to serve and volunteer at the church, in the local community, and worldwide.

If you’re interested in serving the church family or are curious about ECC’s ministries and serving opportunities, check out our Volunteer Fair on August 18th! We have so many great ways to get involved and participate in authentic community service. During the event, you’ll see why authentic community service is important to us and learn about our available ministries to help you choose where you want to jump in and serve!

Prayerfully consider where God wants to use you, and check out the serving opportunities available at the link below.
