Emerge comprises three age groups: Emerge Kids, Emerge Students, and Emerge Teen & Adult. Our mission at Emerge is to ensure that every child, teen, and adult with special needs has an opportunity to hear the gospel at their level and feel the love of Christ.
Children, students, and adults with special needs are loved and welcomed here! While attending an ECC campus, the inclusive nature of the environment is obvious. Sensory rooms and resources are used every weekend, and at times throughout the week, as a safe space for children and students to regulate their sensory needs. Careful thought has allowed each child and student the opportunity to have a one-on-one buddy with them so they are comfortable, and they have a specialized lesson plan so they can learn about Jesus at their level. High school students and Adults with special needs are in the sanctuary participating in corporate worship before going to class for their lesson, Scripture reading, group discussion, and prayer time. At the heart of the Emerge ministry is a love of all people and a desire to show them the love of Jesus in a way that makes sense to them.
If you have a heart for the special needs community and are willing to learn and be gracious while sharing the love of Jesus, Emerge is an excellent place for you to serve!
We provide a one-on-one buddy for our Emerge children and students each weekend, and for our teens and adults, we join them for worship with the congregation and then move to another space for their lesson. From helping with the lessons to being a one-on-one buddy each weekend, Emerge volunteers help the special needs community grow in their faith.
“Jesus,… invited them: ‘Let the little children come to me, and don’t stop them, because the kingdom of God belongs to such as these’” (Luke 18:16).
