January Life Group Launch
You are invited to register and become part of one of the fifteen upcoming Life Groups launching the second week of January! Take a moment to review the bios and choose the group that aligns best with your needs. We kindly ask that you commit to regular attendance when signing up. As slots are limited, we aim to fill them with individuals prioritizing consistent community.
Group One
Alex & Meredith Derry

Alex and Meredith Derry have been part of ECC for two years and are passionate about building authentic community. Married for 10 years, they have a 7-year-old daughter and a 4-year-old son. Originally from Union, SC, and Franklin, TN, they enjoy outdoor adventures like biking, hiking, and camping. Meredith loves serving to grow in faith and connect with others, while Alex values authentic relationships and surrendering fully to God. Fun fact: Meredith adores connecting with neighbors, and Alex, surprisingly, is missing a quarter of his brain!
Group Two
McIntyre & Smith (Women’s)

Bonnie McIntyre and Rachel Smith have both been attending ECC for 1.5 years and share a passion for community and serving others. Bonnie, a Murfreesboro resident, has two children, three grandchildren (one adopted), and two furbabies. She loves creating a space for women to share their love for Jesus and support each other. Rachel, married for 27 years with two grown children, enjoys connecting with others and sharing how Jesus has worked in her life. Both look forward to meeting new people, sharing faith, and supporting each other in their walks with Christ. Fun facts: Bonnie loves decorating and natural healing, while Rachel enjoys crafting.

Diana Coomes

Diana Coomes, originally from Belleville, IL, has been a part of ECC for about three years. She and her family of eight are active members, with six attending ECC regularly. Passionate about serving, Diana enjoys exploring new opportunities to support the church and is eager to help it grow through group life. An adventurous, outdoorsy woman, Diana loves embracing the roles of wife and mother. She looks forward to contributing to the church community and cherishes the chance to connect with others while growing in faith together.
Group Four
Ron Meda (Men’s)

- Meets at Ron’s home off Nolensville Pike in Nashville

Ron Meda, originally from Argentina, has been attending ECC for 12 years. He has a beautiful wife and six children, two of whom still live at home. Passionate about serving, Ron loves ECC for its Bible-based foundation, and he thinks the pastor is the best (though he’d never admit it to him!). He looks forward to making new friends, offering accountability, and growing together through learning and support. Fun fact: Ron is known for being very friendly, and some even think he’s quite funny!
Group Five
Gail & Ed Schmitt

Edward and Gail Schmitt have been married since 1978, living in 11 cities across 8 states while always finding God-fearing, Bible-believing churches. They’ve attended ECC for two years. They have two children: Ben, a Nuclear Engineer in Washington with his wife and three kids, and Erin, a Rockvale High English teacher who taught in Korea and earned a Texas Master’s. Edward, a retired Naval Officer, and Gail, a retired accountant, are passionate about teaching, hospitality, and fostering community. Fun fact: Gail crochets and bakes everything (including sourdough!) from scratch, and Edward has mastered slow-cooking!

Julie Culp (Women’s)

Julie Culp has been married to her best friend, Kevin, for 12 years. They have two sports-loving boys, Brandt and Logan, and an 11-year-old lab/boxer, Harper, who defies her age. Passionate about growth in her Christian walk, Julie looks forward to regular study and discussion to inspire, be inspired, and grow in her relationship with the Lord. She’s excited to be part of a group of women who prioritize serving God. Fun fact: Julie loves historical fiction, especially British stories and WWII-themed books, TV, and movies!

Aaron & Dianna Lorton and Darren & Lori Volle are excited to co-lead a Life Group at ECC. Darren and Lori, married 22 years with four kids, moved to Tennessee in 2023 and joined ECC in 2024. Aaron and Dianna, married 3.5 years, welcomed their first child in 2024 after moving to Murfreesboro. Both families are passionate about building community and growing in Christ, inspired by Proverbs 27:17. Fun fact: Lori loves brunch and traveling while Darren hangs out with For King and Country at the airport, Dianna adores all kinds of animals, and Aaron has shaken hands with a U.S. President!

Rick Beeney (Men’s)

Rick Beeney, originally from California, has been attending ECC for over two years. Married to his wife Sue for 56 years, Rick is proud of their family, including two sons and five grandsons. Passionate about leading life groups, he enjoys fostering fellowship and discipleship among men, helping them grow in their faith, and build meaningful connections. Rick looks forward to sharing life, laughter, and spiritual growth with others. Fun fact: Rick has a great sense of humor and loves to laugh, bringing joy to every gathering.

Bart and Samantha Morton, originally from Alabama, have been part of ECC for six years. Married for 16 years, they have two young children, ages 3 and almost 2. Bart works in insurance and volunteers in the music ministry, while Samantha is a preschool teacher. They are passionate about serving as the hands and feet of Jesus, sharing God’s love, and fostering community. They look forward to helping others grow in their faith and building meaningful connections. Fun fact: together, they once hosted a podcast all about coffee!

Chanan Catlin, originally from Franklin, TN, has been attending ECC for three years. She has been married for six years and has two children, Hayleigh (4) and Hayes (2). Passionate about serving in community, Chanan is deeply grateful for God’s faithfulness and desires to grow in her faith while connecting with others. As a mother, she’s excited to have opportunities for fellowship that were previously limited by childcare. She looks forward to diving into the Word of God and building relationships. Fun fact: Chanan loves collecting coffee mugs!

David and Jaymie White, originally from Nashville, have been attending ECC for 2 and 8 years, respectively. Newly married, they have grown children and grandchildren. Passionate about building a community of believers, they feel called to open their home for fellowship. They look forward to connecting with other Christians and walking through life together. A shared love for travel fuels their desire to explore the beauty of God’s creation, making every journey a new adventure to appreciate His handiwork.

Loretta Gjeltema, originally from Kansas, has been attending ECC for four years. Married later in life to her husband John, she gained three bonus daughters and grandchildren, embracing her role as a devoted grandma. Passionate about discipling women, Loretta treasures the opportunity to study scripture and help others grow in their faith. She looks forward to mentoring younger women and witnessing their spiritual growth. Fun fact: Loretta is a retired scientist with a love for art and music, blending analytical thinking with creativity in her everyday life.

Daniel and Casey Eversole are passionate about building authentic community at ECC, where Casey has been attending since 2017 and Daniel since 2022. Originally from New Orleans, Louisiana, and Bardstown, Kentucky, respectively, they now share a home with their five children and have been happily married for two years. They love creating safe spaces for believers to grow, ask questions, and study God’s Word together. They deeply value life-changing community shaped by faith and fellowship. Fun fact: With a heart for advancing God’s kingdom, they hope to pursue full-time ministry in the future.

Kendall Ray (Men’s)

Kendall Ray is originally from Middle Tennessee and has been a part of ECC for approximately seven years. He has one brother who lives in New Mexico and his mom resides in Shelbyville. Passionate about serving in Community, Kendall seeks to give back after being blessed throughout his faith journey and providing for others what many have provided him. He looks forward to creating genuine companionship in group life, where people can be themselves and grow closer to Christ. A fun fact: Kendall has a knack for identifying rock albums, especially 80s glam metal, with impressive accuracy.

Luke & Megan Austin (Co-Ed)

Luke and Megan Austin are passionate members of ECC, where they’ve served for over a decade. Megan, a graphic designer from Mt. Juliet, and Luke, a Spanish teacher from Savannah, TN, are dedicated to supporting their community and local small businesses. Together, they enjoy spending time at home with their daughter and three dogs, exploring the city, and growing in their faith. Both are excited about deepening their connection to God and others through group life and using their gifts to serve the Kingdom of God. Fun fact: Megan worked for Disney, and Luke speaks several languages!
