Hebrews | Shelbyville

The book of Hebrews is a compelling book. Though we don’t know much about the author, we can tell they were well-versed in the Jewish scriptures, also known as our Old Testament. This letter was written to Jewish Christians who were being heavily persecuted for their faith. This letter was an encouragement for them to stand strong and continue maturing in their relationship with Jesus. In many ways, Hebrews reminds the reader that Jesus is the fulfillment of Old Testament prophecies and greater than anyone who came before him. We see how Jesus is the perfect example of obedience, and yet He is the great High Priest who cares deeply for us.
