3 Ways to Give & Show Generosity
Are you showing generosity and giving? Read 2 Corinthians Chapter 9.
“You will be enriched in every way for all generosity, which produces thanksgiving to God…” (2 Corinthians 9:11, CSB).
Generosity and the Ministry of Giving
In 2 Corinthians 9, Paul talks about the reasons Believers should give generously and they may be more than what you think. Of course, giving benefits the poor and needy—we expect that—and it also benefits the giver (you). After all, “it is more blessed to give than receive” (Acts 20:35). But even more importantly than helping others and reaping personal benefits, our giving honors God!

Maybe honoring God doesn’t sound that important to you right now. But let me ask you this, has God ever done anything for you? Who made that air you’re breathing? Has He provided for your needs? Has He taken your punishment on the cross? Has He saved you from eternal death?
If you said yes to any of these, then you have a reason to exclaim: “Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!” (2 Corinthians 9:15). And that feeling of sincere thankfulness should inspire us to give back to God in some way. We know that “God loves a cheerful giver” (2 Corinthians 9:7). When we give, we are connecting to God’s heart and it honors Him. Giving is a form of authentic worship. In verses 11–13 of 2 Corinthians 9, it says generosity “produces thanksgiving to God” and that the ministry of giving “overflow[s] in many expressions of thanks to God.” It goes on to say that because of sharing and generosity, other people “will glorify God.”
So, when we give to others, we are producing thanksgiving to God!
