First Peter | Cannon County

This book of the Bible is the first of two letters written to the early church by the Apostle Peter. It was written during a time of severe persecution of the church under the Roman Emperor Caesar Nero, and was meant to be a letter of encouragement. In it, Peter reminds us that we are saved by grace, that we are to live holy lives under the blood of Christ, and also that persecution will and has come, but that through that suffering, we have an eternal joy to come that will surpass all understanding. In this book, we find a deeper understanding to what it means to be a Christian and how we can apply these simple yet profound attributes to our lives, and find joy in Him who suffered for us all.
