The win for the Nursery (infants and toddlers) is to establish trusted care with families and encourage community amongst our families with small children. The Nursery is the first stage in a child’s time with us at Experience Community and often a family’s first impression of our community at large. We need to make that first impression count. We want children to know that they are safe and loved. We also want parents to feel good about leaving them in our care, knowing they are safe and happy. Children’s ministry plays a huge role in families deciding whether or not they will continue attending a church after their first visit. Our goal for children’s ministry is to partner with parents to help them raise their children in faith and character. Those partnerships begin in the Nursery as we set the foundations for our children to know who God is, how much He loves them and offering an opportunity for children to find their “first fit” in our Church community.
Our Mother’s Room is located within our Nursery and exists to provide mothers with infants an environment that is safe, quiet and private space that offers mothers an opportunity to attend weekend services while caring for their little one. We supply our Mother’s Room with bottle warmers, a Keurig (for moms who need caffeine or to fill a mug with warm water to heat a bottle of breastmilk), as well as basic infant essentials a mom may need.
Every month we rotate through a Bible story for our older Toddlers and Twos classroom. We often coordinated these lessons with our Preschool and Elementary curriculum so that our families are able to continue these faith and character principles throughout the week with their entire family. Our curriculum is age-appropriate, simple and fun and are designed to introduce our youngest little ones to the love and power of Jesus Christ.
